Story
I am taking on the 2026 London Marathon for Sense!
Being a single mum to my little boy who was profoundly deaf from birth and got missed for the first 3 and half years of his life has really opened my eyes on how much support charities who raise money for hearing and sight. My son is 8 years old now and was born with a genetic mutation. It was sadly missed for the start of his life.
Coming from a hearing family I would of never expected him to be deaf. When he was 3 and a half I found out he had a hearing loss my world fell apart. I felt so alone and felt I had no one to talk to or turn to.
From going through his journey from hearing aids to cocular implant I have came across so many support groups and networks and charities that have been so supportive.
I feel in the world we live in there is not enough knowledge around hearing loss and sight and love this charity.
Would make me so proud to run for a charity that is so close to my heart knowing I've help make a difference.
Sense is a national Charity that supports people who are deafblind and those with complex disabilities, to be understood, connected and valued.
They are there for every person who faces communication barriers in a world that relies on being able to see and hear well to be connected. Together we can unlock barriers to communication so no one is isolated, left out or unable to fulfil their potential.
Thank you for helping me reach my London Marathon goal.
