We’re setting out on a challenge this October, a trek across the Sahara Desert, in support of St Clare’s Hospice, a cause very close to our hearts. It’s an adventure we feel incredibly proud and privileged to take on, one we’re truly excited about, yet we know it will push us to our limits in ways we’ve never experienced before.

We’ll be facing the relentless heat of the desert by day and the cold of the nights, navigating different landscapes and, of course, there’s the small but very real worry of where the next toilet might be! Despite the challenges, we’re embracing every moment with determination and a shared purpose — to make a difference and support those who rely on the care and compassion of St Clare’s Hospice.

This hospice holds a very special place in both of our hearts. We have seen, first hand, the extraordinary care and compassion shown by the nurses as they supported our loved ones through their final weeks and days, whether in the hospice itself or at home. Just as importantly, we witnessed the unwavering support they provide to families, both during those incredibly difficult moments and in the time that follows.

This challenge is especially meaningful to us as we do it in memory of Ally’s mum, Barbara, who passed away three years ago. It is our way of honouring her, and of giving something back to the hospice that gave so much to her and to our family. They were truly remarkable, and we will never be able to thank them enough. This feels like a small but heartfelt way to show our gratitude and make a difference for others in their time of need.

St Clare's depend greatly on donations to continue their amazing work so they can help other families who are going through the pain of losing their loved ones.
