As a Business Ambassador for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust I take on a challenge each year to raise much needed funds. This Year I am staying closer to home and cycling 1000km during May 2024 on my Peloton.

1000km is 621 miles and as a slow and fairly unfit middle-aged woman it will take me approximately 45 hours to complete!

Previous challenges have included being Hunted by ex-SAS (I fell over a twig and broke my nose) and fire-walking (I tripped and burnt my foot) so this time around I am staying on the Peloton where I am less likely to trip and injure myself!!

At Acorns Children’s Hospice, they understand that when time is short every moment is precious, which is why, as well as providing specialist palliative care, they help families to make lasting memories. 

They provide a happy homely environment where children can experience all kinds of great activities, meet new friends, or relax and enjoy some quiet time. Their experienced and skilled staff take time to understand each child’s individual requirements, listening to any concerns and adapting activities according to their needs.

It costs Acorns just over £1,000 to provide a 24-hour break to a life-limited or life-threatened child at one of their hospices. These short breaks can be a lifeline for the Acorns families, providing parents and carers with a much-needed break so they can take some time for themselves or make memories with their other children too.
