Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

100,000 people have strokes every year. All strokes are different and for some people the effects might be minor, however some can be left with longer term problems. Strokes can lead to physical, speech and cognitive difficulties along with emotional, behavioural and visual changes.

At UHDB we endeavour to bring our patients the best we can. Funds that are raised will go towards vital equipment to enrich both our acute and rehabilitation stroke units at Derby. Optimising the experience, recovery and rehabilitation of our stroke survivors.

Staff from the stroke team at UHDB are committing to running, walking or cycling 100K in May.

Last years fundraiser raised £3000 which has contributed towards a specialist rehabilitation plinth at our rehab unit and to a planned revamp of our acute ward day room. Which will increase access to activities and socialisation.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated by the teams and our patients, lets continue to strive for excellence in stroke recovery in UHDB.
