I'm running a marathon on the 19th April and am raising money for Burnaid. A local charity that supports burn survivors and their families at both the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (where I work) and the Birmingham Children's Hospital. They provide financial support for patients and their families, for example they've provided funds for a patients wife to stay in local accommodation whilst he had a long stay at QE ICU/Burns Unit. They have funded an adapted wheelchair for a burns survivor at the children's hospital. And purchased a wig for one of our patients who lost her hair when she sustained her injuries.

The charity is run by NHS staff, burn patients, parents, and other volunteers that are focusing on helping others when it counts.
