12.5km Walk - The 2026 Fun Walk (The Fun Walk Trust) · 7 September 2026

Remus Horse Sanctuary provides rehabilitation and lifetime care for over 100 horses, ponies, donkeys, and other animals in Essex. We provide a safe environment for these animals that have been victims of physical and mental abuse, whether because of ignorance or malicious intent.

Story

I’m taking part in the 2026 Fun Walk with the Fun Walk Trust to raise money for Remus Memorial Sanctuary, a charity that is very close to my heart.

I visit Remus each month to support some of their rescued animals through botanical self-selection, helping them to make their own choices from carefully offered plant extracts.

This year, the prolonged dry weather has left their fields struggling, meaning they are having to buy hay much earlier than usual. The cost of a large bale has risen from £110 to £150 in just six months, and with more than 100 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and other animals to feed, this has created a huge and unexpected financial pressure.

I want to help raise money to make sure their precious animals continue to receive the food, care and security they depend on every day. Every donation, no matter how small, will help Remus keep their rescued animals happy, healthy and well cared for. 💚
