Mount Kilimanjaro · 1 October 2023

Our charity cares for adults in Ayrshire and Arran with life-limiting illnesses. We help them live as actively as possible to the end of their lives, however long that may be. Hospice care is open to all. It’s free for patients but it’s not free to provide. So we need to raise over £4M each year.

Story

As a few of you may know, I am going to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October. At 5895 metres high, it is the world’s tallest free standing mountain. I have always wanted to undertake this challenging climb so I’m swapping my braw Zara dresses for the hillbilly North Face chic look 😂

I wanted to take this opportunity to raise money for a very worthy cause. The Ayrshire Hospice has always been a charity close to my heart. I have both volunteered and worked within the Hospice so I have seen first hand the great work they provide to patients and their families. The support, empathy and care they show through a very difficult time is outstanding. My mum has worked within the hospice for over 20 years and I can see what a difference that her and the team can make to a patients end of life care.

The Ayrshire Hospice is currently under a major construction. The completion of this will enhance their services and improve facilitates for the patients during their stay. Without fundraising, this would not be possible to complete. All donations will go to the Ayrshire Hospice and are greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and wish me luck ☺️
