Story
It's that time of year again when I'm looking for sponsorship for myself and my daughter's to volunteer at Mersea Island Festival .
What is mersea island festival I hear you say?
MIF is an inclusive activity camp for people with physical and learning disabilities. It provides a safe space for anyone to have a go at any activity that takes their fancy.
What activities are there?
Climbing (including wheelchair climbing)
Crabbing
Water sports
Zip wire
Assault course
Arial course
Football and rounders games
Arts and crafts
Boccia
Accessible bikes
And so many many more!
What about the evenings?
In the entertainment marquee you'll find live music, DJ's and even a camp concert.
What do volunteers do?
The volunteer team provides friendship, social support, guidance on activities, the media team, serving food in the dining hall, running the arts and crafts tent, decorating for each day and evening and so much more. Without the volunteers the camp simply wouldn't be what it is.
A volunteer place costs £250 for myself and £110 for the girls.
If you can spare anything at all to help us pay for our places we would very much appreciate it.
Taking my children is an invaluable experience for them. Last year they made me so proud; talking to everyone and helping anyone they could.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Love Kirsty, Arwen and Elise xxx
