I know most of you know Chris’ story but for those that don’t, The Chris Aked Foundation was set up in memory of my amazing husband Chris after he very sadly died of bowel cancer when our daughter Freya was just 7 months old.

The charity supports children who have a parent or sibling with cancer or other life affecting illnesses & provides them with sports for some normality, counselling & most importantly family memory making days to spend time together.

We have grown so much over the last 8 years and have supported 1840 children. It costs £600 to support a family & we’ve already received over 200 new child referrals in 2026.

As a small charity we really need the support to help us reach even more families.

London will be my 7th marathon but the first time I’ve run London since my double in 2018, just after setting the charity up!
