Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A marathon has been on my bucket list for a long time, so what better time to sign up than now; when I am the least healthy and most unfit I have ever been!?

I'm running the Edinburgh Marathon in partnership with Kidney Kids Scotland. I heard about Kidney Kids Scotland while staying in the Royal Children's Hospital in Glasgow when my daughter, Jennifer, was unwell. Jennifer was ill due to a kidney and bladder issue when she was just 5 weeks old and has recently had another short stay in hospital at 6 months old. She will need regular monitoring for now, and she will probably need an operation next year to remove part of her left kidney.

We are lucky enough to have never needed to use services provided by Kidney Kids Scotland, as Jennifer's kidney problem is quite a minor issue, but for children with more serious kidney/renal/urology problems, Kidney Kids Scotland provides wonderful services and support for both them and their families, while also providing assistance and equipment to hospitals.

Times are tough just now, but any amount you can donate, no matter how small, can make a huge difference.

If donating is outwith your budget just now, any moral support, training tips and motivation would be gratefully received!
