This April, Sarah and I will be taking on some huge challenges running the London Landmarks Half Marathon together, and then I’ll also be running the London Marathon to raise money for The Brompton Fountain, in honour of our brave little girl, Anaya.

In February 2025, we welcomed our little girl into our family. Anaya was our perfect baby: smiley, giggly, and full of cuddles.

Six weeks later, we were in hospital, unaware of what was to come. After two weeks in limbo across various hospitals, we finally discovered that Anaya had congenital heart failure and poor heart function. She needed open-heart surgery at just eight weeks old, marking the beginning of a lengthy stay in hospital for our family.

We went from living the best days of our lives to not knowing what would happen in the next few hours, and doing things we never thought we would have to do.

The Brompton Fountain supports children with serious heart and lung conditions and their families at the Royal Brompton Hospital. They fund vital equipment on the paediatric ICU and wards, giving children the best possible care when they need it most. Their work goes far beyond medical care. They also provide emotional support, counselling, play therapy, and safe spaces for children and parents navigating long hospital stays.

Now, ten months later, Anaya is thriving 💖

And that’s exactly why I’m running.

Every mile is for her, and for other families facing the same journey. £2,000 is the minimum I’m aiming to raise, but every extra pound helps The Brompton Fountain continue their incredible work.
