Story
Hiya! I'm Kit, a non-binary 20 year old. I'm intending to walk the length of the UK, which stretches from John O Groats (the very tip of Scotland) to Lands End (the very bottom of England). I'm hoping to walk the 1,200+ miles (1930+ km) in around 2.5-3 months whilst raising money for Stonewall. I am starting on 4th August and plan to finish by 1st November.
I would be incredibly grateful if anyone who lives along the route would be willing to provide me with a hot meal, shower or bed for the night (or knows someone who might). I will pop a route map below. If you would like to follow my journey, I will be posting on Polarsteps.

Stonewall is an LGBTQ+ charity which advocates for LGBTQ+ people internationally, provides education for workplaces to ensure equality and inclusion and recently has developed an app to make it easier to report hate crimes. They are also currently campaigning to ban conversion therapy.
I want to raise awareness of the challenges LGBTQ+ people face.
I feel really passionate about banning conversion therapy and providing support for people who have experienced homophobia or transphobia. The government stated that they would ban conversion therapy in 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, but this legislation still has not been passed. It’s been over six years since the LGBTQ+ community and allies were promised legislation to ban conversion practices. Finally with Stonewall's support and continuous campaigning, we finally have a draft bill. Every day of delay puts LGBTQ+ lives at risk. Conversion therapy is still legal in the UK. Stonewall are working with members of the LGBTQ+ community to raise awareness of conversion therapy and are continually campaigning to ban it.
