Story

The Kennett & Jennersville Area YMCAs Swimming is more than just a swim team. Time in the pool isn't just about swimming laps to get faster and stronger. It's about building self-confidence, setting goals, being part of a team, and most importantly having fun while making lifelong friends! If you stop for a minute and think about how much the Sea Turtle program has given to your swimmer(s) and your family, you'll realize how fortunate we are to be a part of the Kennett & Jennersville Area YMCAs swim program.

Our Safety Around Water (SAW) programs service over 600 - 2nd graders in the Avon Grove, Kennett, Octorara, and Oxford School Districts. This program has been dedicated at the Jennersville Branch to Rebekah Hostetter, who was a swimmer and a coach there & at the Kennett Branch to Emma Hill, who was a swimmer, lifeguard and swim lesson instructor at KAY. Sadly, both tragically passed away at a young age. Since both Rebekah and Emma made such an impact on their teammates and community, both SAW programs are in their names, as well as the establishment of 2 character awards given each year in their honor at our end of the season KJAY banquet.

With their gratitude in mind, we are asking you to help by donating today. Unfortunately, not all kids are as lucky as our swimmers and their families. You can help!
