Thank you for reading my story.

As a family, 2024 couldn’t have got off to a worse start. My father-in-law, who was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis last year, became poorly. Within a short time of visiting A&E he was in ICU, placed on a ventilator and sedated, where he stayed for 11 days and we were advised he may not pull through. Whilst he is still in poorly and in hospital as we head into February, things are looking far more positive and we are hopeful he will be home with us soon.

We’re thankful for the staff at QEH. Not only have they saved his life, they have been kind and compassionate to our family, taking time to make sure we understood what was happening and allowing us to spend as much time with him as we needed to.

I’m cycling 3 miles (or 4.8km) every day for the remainder of February and March. 162 miles, 54 days. I have some health challenges myself so I’ve chosen what I hope will be achievable for me. I know money is tight for so many of us but I hope people can donate even a little to support me.
