Story
We began our family planning journey in 2022.
In 2024 we experienced two losses. The first in June and the second in December.
It wasn't until our second loss that we realised we hadn't given ourselves time I needed to process all that had happened and what we as a couple had experienced. After our first loss I dove back into work after a week and didn't look for much more support other than a single counselling session.
The second time I knew I had to be kinder to myself. My husband and I took the time needed to process and support each other.
From speaking with those around me I came to realise that pregnancy loss is not spoken about enough and many feel that they have to work though in silence for fear of the stigma around loss or the judgement they may be subjected to.
As someone that continually focuses on mental health I decided to do what I could to support others around me just by telling my story in the hopes of sharing with those with similar experiences. Letting them know they are not alone and have support, as well as raising awareness for those that do not know much about pregnancy loss.
When I looked for support avenues I came across the Miscarriage Association's Facebook group. This is such a wonderfully supportive community helping people through difficult times around trying to conceive. Many looking for guidance and many like myself open to sharing our lives experiences.
Those of you that know me know I have continued to speak openly through 2025 about our experience of loss and the groups of support that are available as we remain on our family planning journey.
If you would like to support Morgan and I through #StepUpforMiscarriage this January it would mean a lot to us. Your can donate but also you can join along as we clock our steps. Last year we were supported by family, friends, and colleagues in person and virtually as we ventured round town. Hopefully this time will get to venture further afield and show off more of our lovely island.
This January, we're taking on the Miscarriage Association’s #StepUpforMiscarriage challenge by pledging to walk 250,000 steps – one step for each of the 250,000 pregnancies estimated to end in miscarriage, molar, or ectopic pregnancy in the UK every year.
We're proud to be part of Team M.A, raising awareness about pregnancy loss, sharing the vital support services the charity offers, and raising funds to ensure they can continue to be there for those who need them most.
Every donation helps the Miscarriage Association support people through the hardest of times, providing comfort, guidance, and a knowledge for those affected by pregnancy loss.
Thank you for helping us #StepUpForMiscarriage
