Story
In 2022, our niece Wren was diagnosed as Autistic at the age of 4. The diagnosis followed verrrrrrry lengthy observations, reports, assessments, appointments for her mum and dad - you name it, they did it. To say it's been an education for them, and the whole family, is putting it lightly - you don't really "get it" until it's your world.
Wren attends The Dales which is a special educational needs (SEN) school which we’d like to raise money for, she is absolutely thriving there with their specialist support and guidance. It’s magic.
The Dales have unique and individual reading areas in each classroom and they try to embed reading throughout the curriculum in many ways. One of the ways they do this is through sensory stories and reading sacks. They use story sacks throughout school with all the children and it’s something that will be used for years to come in school. The story sacks have different items relating to the story depending on which book it is. The whole school loves them and they really help to embed excitement into reading with the children.
So here we are, running the Goggins 4x4x48 (4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours), to raise a little bit of money for Wren and her fellow school friends so they can continue to learn, and thrive in a way that is unique to them.
Please give whatever you can - it'd mean the world to us all xxx
