Story
We are members of the Knighton and Presteigne District Nursing Team, and we are taking on a half marathon, 10km, or 5km run to raise vital funds for St Michael’s Hospice.
St Michael’s Hospice has been there for so many of our patients and their families during the most difficult moments of their lives. Their compassion, dignity, and unwavering support during palliative and end-of-life care makes an immeasurable difference — not just to patients, but to the families who love them. As nurses, we see firsthand the comfort, kindness, and reassurance the hospice provides when it is needed most.
This fundraiser is also deeply personal. We would like to honour Emily Powell, our student nurse, who we will be running alongside, who experienced that same care and support when St Michael’s Hospice looked after her dad at the end of his life. The team supported Emily and her family with compassion and understanding during an incredibly painful time, and this run is one small way of saying thank you.
By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping St Michael’s Hospice continue their incredible work — ensuring that patients and families receive the care, dignity, and comfort they deserve when it matters most.
Thank you so much for any donation, big or small, and for supporting a hospice that means so much to our team and our community.
Also Barclays Bank will match any money raised up to £1000
