Story
In October, I will be trekking to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, reaching an altitude of approximately 5,500 metres, to support communities affected by the catastrophic flash floods that struck the Nepal Himalayan border region on 26 August.
The disaster has left families facing profound loss and uncertainty. Hundreds of lives were lost, many people remain missing, and countless others are working to rebuild their homes, livelihoods, and communities after essential infrastructure and services were severely damaged. This is a time that calls for compassion, solidarity, and collective action.
For me, this trek is far more than a personal challenge. I have been training intensely for many months and am now even more determined to dedicate this effort to those affected by the floods. Preparing for this expedition has required significant commitment and discipline.
Over the past 12 months, I have lost ~20 kilograms, trekked and run hundreds of kilometers, and embraced countless early morning starts in pursuit of this goal. Some milestones from my training journey include:
• Hiked ~300 km since April, with a cumulative elevation gain of ~13500 metres, with more training planned throughout September.
• Completed the UK National 3 Peaks 3 Days Challenge, including conquering the Snowdon Miners' Track on the third and last day in under four hours.
• Completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in under ten hours.
• Completed Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike Marathon Challenge
• Currently undertaking a 100-day countdown to the trek, with 30 days remaining and so far,
o Achieved more than 10,000 steps every single day without exception.
o Covered ~300 km through running and trail running.
o Dedicated significant time (~1000 mins/month) to breathing and resilience training through Art of Living Sudarshan Kriya practice.

I can handle the sore feet, steep climbs, and thin mountain air. What I need is your support to help those whose lives have been turned upside down by this disaster.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will support rehabilitation and recovery efforts, helping restore essential services and enabling affected communities to take important steps towards long-term rebuilding and sustainable recovery.
Please consider supporting this appeal and standing alongside the people of Nepal as they rebuild their lives and communities.
The best and quickest way to help support those affected by the Nepal floods, is to donate to RedCross Disaster Fund today. We are already supporting the response to the devastating flash floods in Nepal via the Disaster Fund and working with the Nepal Red Cross Society on the ground to determine what further support is required and how we can help.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
