Walking the South West Coast Path · 7 April 2024

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

At Alzheimer’s Society, they are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future, but this needs funds, lots of funds.

To that end, Kris & I, two old friends with a shared love of walking & an ambition to complete the South West Coast Path in one go, decided to use our passion to raise some funds for AS. We both have family members affected by Dementia, so this seemed an ideal way to do some good whilst having some "fun"!

The South West Coast Path is the longest national trail in the UK, running from Minehead to Poole, over 630 miles with a wide variation of coastal scenery & the effort involved from "easy" to "severe". Along the way, we will be carrying the AS flag (literally) & a bucket with us to raise awareness as well as funds, chatting to everyone we meet about the UK's number one killer.

So, anything you can give, large or small will help make a huge difference to both our motivation & this great cause.

Thank you in advance!

Kris & Jo
