Story
I am embarking on a transformative expedition called "Care Beyond Borders", a road trip from the United Kingdom (John o' Groats, Scotland) to Southern India (Kerala) in my Land Rover Defender 110. I have a great connection with both Scotland and Kerala, which is why I have chosen this journey to symbolically begin in the far north of the UK and end in southern India - connecting two places that mean a great deal to me through a mission of care and compassion.
This expedition will cover thousands of kilometres across continents, all to raise awareness and funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society (MS Society), while also supporting the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). This mission is deeply personal; it stems from witnessing the daily challenges faced by those living with Multiple Sclerosis, a condition that affects millions worldwide, including loved ones.
As someone who works in the care sector, I understand how vital compassionate support and awareness are for individuals living with long-term health conditions. Recently, I experienced recurrent retinal detachments, which underscored how swiftly vision can change and highlighted the essential role organizations like RNIB play in supporting those facing sight loss. Through "Care Beyond Borders", I aim to transform these personal experiences into something impactful, raising funds, sharing stories of resilience and caregiving, and emphasizing the importance of compassionate care across cultures.
I invite you to join me on this journey by contributing to this cause. Every donation will directly support the incredible work done by these charities for people living with neurological and vision conditions. My target is to raise £25,000 by July 3rd, 2027. Your generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of many who need our support. Thank you for being part of this meaningful journey! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure; your details are safe with them as they never sell or share your information. Once you donate, your contribution goes directly to the charity - making it an efficient way to help those in need.
