In memory of Nick Craven

Le Tour de Nick - Morzine to Royal Holloway College · 27 August 2025

We believe every moment matters so we go above and beyond to help our patients and their families make the most of every moment they have left. All our services are free of charge. We receive 33% of our funding from the NHS and rely on donations to raise the extra £13m we need each year.

Story

Our great friend, Nick Craven, sadly lost his battle with Cancer on 2nd September 2023. To celebrate his life a few of his friends are cycling from Morzine (Yes France) to Royal Holloway College, Egham - our university, which is where our friendships were formed.

We will be cycling over 600 miles in 6 days, Starting in Morzine on 27th August, cycling to Dieppe, with a final day taking us from Newhaven over the South and North downs to the College in Egham. Our finishing date, in Egham, on September 2nd marks the 2nd anniversary of when Nick lost his battle with cancer.

During Nick's final few months, he and Tracy received much needed care and support from the Royal Trinity Hospice, which made a real difference to Nicks quality of life in those last few weeks.

Nick was able to spend his final weeks at home with Tracy and Coco (their dog). We all know how much this meant to Nick.

The level of dedicated service, both at a patient's home and at the Hospice cost money to provide, so we are taking on this challenge to remember Nick and raise much needed funds for the Hospice - please donate what you can!

Many thanks

Team Le Tour du Nick

More about the Royal Trinity Hospice

The people and services provided by the Hospice made this period

We believe that every moment matters, so we go above and beyond to help our patients and their families make the most of every moment they have left.

Hospice care is as much about living as it is about dying. We want to give our patients the time and support they need to make informed decisions about how they die. We’ll continue to be there after death, for those close to them, providing specialist emotional and practical support, no matter their age. Last year we cared for 2,500 people at the hospice and out in the community.
