Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We recently met the North West Pre-Hospital Critical Care Charity whilst out on a bike ride.
The charity is made up of specialist volunteer Doctors, Paramedics and Nurses who support the ambulance and rescue services, bringing advanced medical care to the communities of Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Lancashire or further afield if needed.
The experienced responders can help with advanced analgesia, prehospital anaesthesia, surgical skills and a whole lot of experience!
The responders are automatically notified at the time of a 999 call to the ambulance service if a serious incident is in their vicinity or the they might also get allocated to an incident if there is a crew request for additional support or skills.
Given the serious and often tragic nature of the incidents they attend, those patients and families that they serve are often unaware that they have received care from volunteers, responding in their own time.
We couldn’t believe these Doctors and Paramedics were giving up their own days off to raise money to allow them to help save peoples lives!
So we decided we wanted to help! We are going to cycle a marathon - 26.2 miles - to try and raise £500 for the NWPCCC.
