Story
I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer (CPG3) on 22nd January this year , PSA test done in Oct 2023 following up on a request from GP spanning 2years (that’s a whole other story) & will say that I DID NOT exhibit any classic symptoms other than going for a pee in the middle of the night on a few occasions (I had put that down to consuming too much liquid prior to bedtime).
The Big Golf Race 36hole challenge (equivalent distance of a half marathon), combines my love of the game with the desire to help raise money and awareness of Prostate Cancer to keep men in the game for longer.
I and a few friends will hopefully be taking on the challenge on Sunday 30th June (originally 14th July but radiotherapy brought forward ~9weeks), as I should have completed my Radiotheraphy treatment and on the smooth road to recovery.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That's thousands of dads, brothers, partners, grandads, mates, sons and uncles. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Your donation will help fund lifesaving research to find better tests to diagnose men sooner.
Thank you for your support.
