Story
In April, I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Diabetes UK.
In 2023, our stepdad, who has diabetes, had a heart attack and severe complications with his legs, which tragically led to the amputation of one leg. After four months in hospital and six weeks in rehab, he returned home and began learning to navigate life in a completely new way. This experience has shown us just how serious and life-changing diabetes can be.
There are still concerns about his remaining leg and we don’t know what the future holds. That’s why I’m raising money for Diabetes UK. They fund life-saving research and work to prevent devastating complications.
I hope one day no one with diabetes has to go through what my stepdad has experienced.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far — your support means everything. I would absolutely love to hit £2,000 by April If you’re able to donate, it would mean the world 💙
