On 12th April 2026, I’ll be running a half marathon- 13.1 miles of challenge, determination, and purpose. But this isn’t just about running. It’s about making a real difference.

I’m aiming to raise £500 for Likkle Swimmers, a small but incredibly impactful charity based in Treasure Beach, Jamaica. They provide free swimming lessons to children and adults, giving them the life-saving skill of swimming in a community where access to safe water and lessons is limited.

As someone who has always loved the water and the sea, this cause is especially close to my heart. I was lucky enough to learn how to swim from a young age, and it gave me not only confidence but also a deep sense of safety around water. That’s something every child deserves, the freedom to enjoy the water without fear, and the skills to stay safe.

Why This Matters

Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death in children worldwide. The ability to swim can literally save lives. By supporting Likkle Swimmers, you’re helping to:

Challenges Facing the Community

In recent years, Hurricane Beryl and Hurricane Melissa have hit Treasure Beach hard, damaging the community’s swimming pool - the heart of Likkle Swimmers’ teaching program - and disrupting their lessons. Despite these setbacks, the team has continued to teach using borrowed pools from local hotels and villas, determined not to let the children miss out.

The funds raised go directly towards rebuilding and maintaining the pool, repairing storm damage, and ensuring that classes can return to full strength in 2026 and beyond. Every donation helps this resilient community keep swimming- literally and figuratively.
