Story
For the last few years, I’ve applied for the London Marathon ballot and then breathed a quiet sigh of relief when the rejection email arrived.
Well… this time there’s no getting out of it.
Next year I’ll be running the London Marathon, and I’ll be doing it for a great cause — raising money and awareness for Ruby’s ‘Live Kindly, Live Loudly’ Fund.
Ruby was my aunt’s god-daughter, so this is a cause with a personal connection for me and my family. I’m incredibly proud to be taking on the marathon in her memory and helping to support the work being done through her fund.
Ruby’s Fund is a Special Named Fund at CCLG, raising money for research into T-cell lymphoma and leukaemia, in memory of Ruby Fuller.
Ruby was 17 when she was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2019, which later developed into leukaemia. Her family established the fund in her memory, inspired by Ruby and her determination to “Live Kindly, Live Loudly.”
You can read Ruby’s full story here
So, after years of being secretly pleased not to get a marathon place, it’s time to actually put the trainers on and tackle 26.2 miles for a cause that makes every mile worthwhile.
I’d love your help.
Anything you can donate, however big or small, will help support research into T-cell lymphoma and leukaemia. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean a huge amount too and will help us raise awareness of Ruby’s Fund.
I’ll be sharing plenty of updates along the way as the training miles start adding up — the good runs, the bad runs and probably quite a lot of complaining about my legs!
Thank you so much for your support.
26.2 miles. In memory of Ruby. Live Kindly, Live Loudly. ❤️
