Mount Rainier Climb for National Park Fund · 21 August 2023

Each year, employees from local companies and foundations raise funds for Washington's National Parks by climbing Mount Rainier, Mount Shuksan (North Cascades) or Mount Olympus (Olympics). Are you ready to Climb for a Cause?

Story

Howdy! I'm Kyle Bimm, and on August 21, I'll be joining a team of mountaineers from Microsoft to make my first summit attempt on Mt. Rainier to help raise funds for Washington state's National Park fund.

Mount Rainier stands at 14,417 feet high and is the most glaciated mountain in the lower 48 states. About half the people who attempt to make it to the top actually get there. This will be my first attempt at a high altitude glacial summit, and I'm excited to join the team and see if I've got what it takes!

I am pushing myself out of my comfort zone to help support priority projects in the national parks that many of us love so much.

Anyone who has spent time in a national park (Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Park here in WA) know firsthand just how much they have to offer. Recreation, exploration, connection to nature, community; the impact is immeasurable. I've decided it's time I do my part in giving back.

The more people that know about the National Park Fund, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot to the many who get to explore national parks!
