Story
We are raising money for a charity super close to our hearts our little boy Franky’s school charity “Louie’s helping hands”
Franky was diagnosed with autism at 2 years old after regressing, everything stopped his eye contact babbling and awareness. Franky was born July 2020 right in the height of the first Covid. franky is now 5 and for what felt like forever we had the biggest fight on our hands trying to get franky in school.
whilst the local authorities agreed Franky needed specialist provision there was no placement in any schools for him. It was heartbreaking we just wanted what so many people take for granted for our little boy to go to school and mix with other children,we didn’t feel like this was a big ask this is what all children do they go to school!
After a long battle we was booked for tribunal to fight for franky to get in a school that could meet his needs. A week before we was due to go we got a phone call from Franky’s school inviting us to look around.
I don’t think our hearts have ever been so full as the day we looked round we just knew this would be Franky’s place, a safe place for him to fit in with other children just like him tiptoeing around the schools garden.
On top of all of this the head teacher Sara knew exactly what we was going through as she had been there with her son not having a school place, which was why she started her school and her sons charity “Louie’s helping hands”
We was no longer alone!
Franky’s dad Kyle is running the Brighton marathon on sunday 12th April 2026
to raise money for Louie’s helping hands.
Louie's Helping Hands aims to help improve the lives and futures of local children living in Kent with multi-sensory impairments and physical difficulties. They provide life changing support – for them and their families – ensuring that the children achieve an enriched quality of life and can aim for brighter futures based on improved physical, emotional, social and communication abilities.
