For the past 10 years, I've been lucky enough to build a career doing something I genuinely care about at the Edmonton Humane Society. During that time, I've seen thousands of animals leave our Adoption Gallery for loving homes. I've also adopted from EHS myself (as has my family!) and have had the opportunity to share many of the incredible adoption stories that begin here every day.

As someone who's both studied and worked in animal welfare, I know the environment animals experience while they're in our care matters. It's about more than the building itself — thoughtful spaces that provide comfort, choice and opportunities for natural behaviour can have a real impact on animal welfare.

I'm proud to be part of an organization that never stops looking for ways to do better. This renovation isn't about fixing something that's broken; it's about continuing to lead the way and creating spaces that reflect the standard of care every animal deserves.
