Prasanna Fernando has been training in this martial art for 44 years. He is currently 5th dan black belt in Kyokushin karate and head instructor of the SBKR Fernando Dojo Glasgow city. He has participated in National and International tournaments since 1985, finally he retired from competing in tournaments in 2010.

He has decided to compete again and will be taking part in the Scottish Open Karate Karate Tournament on the 4th of March 2023, because he would like to support Children 1st, Scotland's National Children's Charity.

Prasanna wants to encourage people from his field to help children.
