Story
Hello all,
Thank you for taking the time to click onto my Just Giving Page!
I am running 2 ultra marathons to raise money for Weston Hospice. The hospice is an incredible place that not only offers inpatient and outpatient palliative care, but day nurses, day hospice, activities and wishes, as well as incredible support for families going through a tough time. Weston hospice is genuinely a wonderful place.
Right now my partners uncle (Andy) is going through an extremely tough time. Six months ago, our family received the devastating news that our Andy has terminal Cancer, unbeknown to anyone, if it hadn’t have been for the regular testing sent out in the post. He was treated with intense rounds of Chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the cancer has spread around his body aggressively & rapidly, and from this, all treatment has been stopped. The Hospice have been incredible in making Andy’s day to day life as comfortable as it can be & are always at the end of the phone, offering not just support for Andy but support to the family as well.
With the donations from this fundraiser I hope to raise money for the Hospice that receives only 18-20% of its funding from the NHS. To allow them to keep on doing what they’re doing. I also hope to raise awareness for both the hospice and people like our beloved Andy to get them as much help and support as possible.
I have set myself the challenge to complete 2 ultra marathons in close succession;
23rd May - South Down Way 50km
31st May - Mendip Challenge 30 Miles
Thank you for taking the time to read, any donations and support would be greatly appreciated.
For our Andy ❤️
