Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I will be running the London Marathon 2026 for RNID, to support the 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.

Whilst hearing loss has impacted my family for generations, it has only been in recent years that I have felt empowered to disclose my deafness as a central part of my identity. Pictured is me (on the left) and my sister, who also experiences hearing loss. I have learnt British Sign Language (BSL) Levels 1 and 2, and have long-term ambitions to work as a BSL interpreter (one day!).

This cause is deeply personal and emotional to me. After years of non-disclosure, shame and masking my hearing loss, I now have the confidence to advocate for a society that needs to become more accessible, inclusive and kind.

Those who know me know that running does not come naturally to me, which means my journey to running marathon distance will likely be equal parts strenuous and fulfilling, arduous and enriching. I have begun training, and running in the recent 30 degree heat in the UK has been no joke. Please feel free to follow along, and laugh with/at me whilst I train.

This will be my first ever marathon!

I know that in this cost of living crisis, times are difficult for many of us. Any and all donations, big or small, will make a massive difference and I am so hugely grateful.

Love to all, let's do this!
