Nestled in the Surrey Hills AONB the village of Tilford is first mentioned in historical records from the Cistercian Monastery, Waverley Abbey, founded in 1128.

The church, consecrated in 1867, sits at the heart of the village between the two medieval bridges which span the branches of the River Wey.

A significant fall of the original lath and plaster ceiling in the nave of the church means the building is no longer safe. An initial inspection has revealed the some or all of the ceiling will need replacing before we can reopen.
