The 'Lads' (Brett, Paul, Simon & Lloyd) fundraiser for THINK18/NAS

The Lads is raising money for THINK18

BANGERS TO BENIDORM · 6 May 2025

We aim to raise awareness and support vulnerable people 16 years+ with challenging learning disabilities. Friendships are key to young adults, we will provide social clubs, social networks and new friendships, through events, activities, outings… which will lead to more independence and new skills.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The 'Lads' (friends for over 40 years standing!) are taking part in the last Benidorm Bangers sponsored challenge to drive a 'banger' from West Sussex to Benidorm - participating in various challenges along the way. This 1200 mile journey needs to be completed within a 5-day time period, with targets presented each day - as well as maintaining our 'banger' to be able to make the journey intact!

Collectively we are hoping to raise funds to be split equally between THINK18 and The National Autistic Society - two very worthwhile charitable causes that are very dear to our hearts.

Please follow our journey from 6th to 10th May 2025, and sponsor our endeavours as generously as possible, to help us help others in need.

ABOUT THE CHARITIES WE ARE SUPPORTING...

NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY

Having experienced Autism within friends, family and relatives, we are keen to spread the word about the work that the National Autistic Society (NAS) does in support of individuals and groups throughout the country and raising awareness everywhere.

Autism isn’t just a challenge for the individual in their daily lives, but also for the families, professionals and all those supporting them.

In addition to raising awareness, the NAS provides both online and practical support, but like all charities this does not come without cost.

Appreciating that in these challenging economic times it’s difficult to find spare funds, but even small amounts add up to help the Society assist folks everywhere throughout the UK and for that we humbly thank you in advance.

THINK18

THINK18 aims to provide young adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities with the opportunity to live enriched, socially inclusive lives. Their core objective is to empower these young adults by offering a wide range of activities and support systems that promote friendship, independence and personal growth.

By creating a safe and welcoming environment, THINK18 helps vulnerable young adults combat social exclusion. They do this by helping them make meaningful social connections, reducing the isolation that often affects people with learning disabilities.

Through a diverse programme of activities THINK18 promotes confidence and wellbeing, supporting young people in gaining confidence, developing life skills, and enhancing their mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
