Story
Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer.
Frank Docherty my eldest brother passed very suddenly on 30th May this year from Burkitts Lymphoma at age 56.
I had never even heard of Burkitts Lymphoma.
Frank was a son, father, grand father, husband, brother, nephew, cousin and good friend to many. His loss came as a great shock to everyone in the family and his extended circle of friends. He was taken far far too soon.
I’m walking the “Way” to remember Frank as he was a keen photographer and loved taking photos in Glencoe. The West Highland Way goes right through Glencoe so I’m hoping to remember him whilst walking each day. I’m also hoping to work through my own grief for Frank who was my eldest brother allowing time for reflection and I’m sure tears! (Let’s hope it’s raining on those occasions!)
I’m also hoping to raise awareness of Lymphoma Cancers especially Burkitts Lymphoma and the importance of acting quickly and recognising symptoms.
Lymphoma Action have been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Their work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma.
We’re here for everyone affected by lymphoma. https://lymphoma-action.org.uk/
