Woman's Trust supports women to overcome the trauma of domestic abuse through specialist trauma-informed counselling, support groups and workshops. Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women and is responsible for half of women's mental health problems, including suicide. Help us to change women's lives.

Story

The Cause

We're raising money for Women's Trust, a charity that provides free, specialist counselling and mental health support to women who have experienced domestic abuse.

An estimated 2.2 million women in England and Wales experienced domestic abuse in the year ending March 2025, and around 1 in 4 women will be affected during their lifetime. Domestic abuse remains one of the biggest causes of depression and mental health challenges for women.

Abuse isn't always physical. It can include coercive control, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse, and other forms of controlling behaviour that can leave lasting emotional and psychological scars.

Women's Trust provides a safe, confidential space where women can speak openly about their experiences and receive support from specially trained therapists. Their services help women heal from trauma, rebuild confidence, and move forward with hope.

Our Goal

Together, we're aiming to raise £1,000 (£500 each) through our Royal Parks Half Marathon to help more women access life-changing support when they need it most. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference.

We dedicate this run to all the women currently experiencing domestic abuse, to those who have survived it, and to those whose lives were tragically lost because of it. To anyone who has experienced domestic abuse, your story does not end with what happened to you. With time, support, and healing, brighter days are possible. 🫶✨

Thank you for supporting this important cause and helping Women's Trust continue its vital work.
