In April, I’ll be taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk in memory of my cousin Josh, who we sadly lost to suicide in late 2025.

Josh was an amazing person who always had a smile on his face and somehow managed to put smiles on the faces of everyone around him. His loss has left a huge hole in all of our lives. He was passionate about the High Backs and, in particular, the MENding Minds group, which was very close to his heart. The support, connection and sense of belonging that this group provides means so much to so many people.

I would love to raise as much as possible to give back to the High Backs and help ensure the MENding Minds group can continue supporting those who may be struggling.

I also want to use this opportunity to raise awareness around suicide and the importance of talking openly about mental health. If sharing Josh’s story encourages even one person to reach out for help or to check in on someone they care about, then that’s something truly meaningful.

Any donation, big or small, will make a difference and will go towards supporting people who need a safe space, understanding and hope.
