Story

Land & Wave outdoor instructor, Verity, lives for adventure and is a huge advocate for diversity in the outdoors. They’re embarking on an epic mission to make adventure more accessible for all by completing an epic blind coasteering challenge.

Verity will be coasteering with Amar Latif OBE, a renowned TV presenter and Public Speaker who lost 95% of his sight at aged 18. Amar turned his tale of sight loss into an inspirational journey by proving that blindness is not a barrier to exploring the world.

Coasteering is an intense adventure activity involving scrambling over jagged rocks, swimming through moving water and breaking waves and leaping from height. It’s a full-on activity to try all your senses available - let alone doing it blind!

Verity will be splashing into Amar’s world by coasteering with a blindfold - a real challenge. Together, the pair will complete the rocky course of jumps, swims and scrambles, relying simply on touch, smell and hearing to find their way. Land & Wave coasteering guides will lead the pair along the Jurassic Coast - it’s going to be an epic adventure!

Please support Verity’s Blindfolded Coasteering Challenge and help raise money for Dorset Blind Association. The charity helps blind people live as independently as possible and does amazing work for the blind community in Dorset.
