For over 40 years Phyllis Tuckwell has been supporting and caring for patients and families who have been given the worst possible news in West Surrey & North East Hampshire. We rely on the support of our community as we have to raise over £25,000 every day to continue our amazing services.

Story

Lanware 30 for 30!

This year it’s Lanware’s 30th Birthday and to help celebrate, we thought it would be a great idea to mark the occasion by undertaking a number of fundraising challenges with the aim of raising a total of £30K to donate to two great charities that are close to our heart.

The charity we would like to support is The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. This one in particular is very close to Lanware as the hospice gave truly amazing care and support to our founder and his family during his brave long battle with cancer back in 2014, and are continuing to do a fantastic job in the local community.

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice

Founded in 1979, The Phyllis Tuckwell provides supportive and end of life care to adult patients living with an advanced or terminal illness and their families. Supporting over 250 patients, carers and families across West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire, all the hospice services are free but it only receives government funding covering 20% of its running costs. This means it needs to fundraise £20,000 every day of the year to ensure it can give the best level of care, so is reliant on voluntary donations and Corporate Partnerships. Phyllis Tuckwell is also in the process of building a new hospice on its current site in Farnham to ensure it can continue to give the very best quality of life for its patients and that their final days are peaceful.

Throughout the year we are looking to do a number of activities and look forward to involving as many of you as possible to achieve this ambitious target. The first one is kicking off in October 2023, and we look forward to sharing more details about it in the coming weeks.
