Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself and my cousin Mark are running The Wicklow Way (130km in under 24hrs) to raise funds for our little cousin Mila and children just like her. This run through the mountains will start in Clonegal, County Carlow on the morning of the 7th of November and finish in Marlay Park, County Dublin on the 8th (fingers crossed)
Help Mila and Children Like Her Breathe Safely.
We are raising funds for little Mila, a bright and cheeky two-year-old who has already faced more in her short life than most of us ever will.
Mila was born in March 2023 and soon after was diagnosed with Central Congenital Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS) — a rare and life-threatening condition that causes her to stop breathing every time she falls asleep. She relies on a bipap machine and nurse care every night just to stay alive.
Mila also lives with Hirschsprung’s disease and hyperinsulinism, which have meant multiple surgeries and long hospital stays. Despite all this, she’s full of joy. She loves bugs, dancing, and exploring outside with her mam and dad, Ciara and Mete, who want to make sure she can live life to the fullest.
Our family is supporting Keep Me Breathing, a charity leading pioneering research into treatments for CCHS — including an advanced breathing pacemaker that could one day allow children like Mila to sleep safely without machines.
Thank you for helping to keep Mila breathing.
