Story
Normally, with 10 weeks to go until the London Marathon, by now I would switch into competitive mode and start talking about PB’s and carbon plated race shoes.
However, this year’s London Marathon is a wee bit different for me.
This is my redemption year, after having to pull out of the London marathon last time because of a spine injury. So, instead of focusing on the race, this year is all about enjoying the fact that I am able to run again.
In that spirit, I have decided to fundraise for two local charities.
RNLI Broughty Ferry and Reach Across Arbroath both do incredible lifesaving work, in very different ways, and both mean a lot to me personally.
Reach Across is a phenomenal organisation, the impact of which is almost unbelievable. Born after the tragic loss of a loved one to suicide, Reach Across supports anyone and everyone who needs help. Made up entirely of volunteers, they provide a safe haven and counselling services to those in mental health crisis.
I’d like to show these charities how much they are appreciated and would really love your support. Please give generously if you can — so that I get to the race start with a big smile on my face, knowing that this run has made a difference for two important local causes.
