💙 Why I’m doing this…
Just over a year ago, my life changed forever when I lost my dad, Ian Macleod, to suicide.
There are no words that can truly describe what losing someone to suicide does to the people left behind. It is devastating. It is life-changing. It leaves a pain, questions and a sense of “what if?” that never really goes away. You don’t just lose someone you love — a part of your life, your family and your future disappears with them.
I’m doing this skydive to raise money for Tartan Talkers, because men don’t talk enough.
Too many men are taught to keep things to themselves, to be strong, to get on with it and not burden anyone with what they’re going through. But sometimes, behind the smile and the “I’m fine”, someone is struggling more than anyone realises.
I’m raising money in memory of my dad, Ian, but also for every man who is currently going through a difficult time and needs someone to talk to. For the men who feel like they have nowhere to turn. For the families who have been left behind. And for the hope that, one day, asking for help will feel normal rather than impossible.
No one should feel that suicide is their only option.
If this fundraiser can help even one man find the courage to speak, ask for help or simply realise that he isn’t alone, then every penny will be worth it.
So, I’m throwing myself out of a plane on the 28th November 2026 🪂😅 in the hope that we can raise awareness, start conversations and prevent another family from experiencing the devastation that mine has.
For Dad. For Ian. For the men who are struggling. And for the families who are left behind. ❤️
Please donate if you can, share this post if you can’t, and most importantly — check in on the men in your life. Ask them twice if they’re really okay.
