Running the 2025 London Marathon for Brain Research UK in memory of my Mum & Sister 👼

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I am running the 2025 London Marathon for Brain Research UK in memory of both my two angels, my beautiful Mum Michelle & sister Louise 🫶🏻
Why am I raising for the brain research trust..
My Mum & Dad went through the horrendous experience of loosing my sister Louise to a brain tumour at just 3 years old back in 1989. They were just young themselves and had my brother Aaron who was only 5. Louise would have been 36 now, sadly I never got to know her 💔
Years later, the most unexpected happens, Mum’s just turned 39 (February 28th 2004) She goes to bed and suffers a subarachnoid hemorrhage- an unknown aneurysm in her brain bursts. April 28th 2004 our life’s change forever, her 4 children were 19,13,11 & 2.
Since then, my Mum’s cousins & my husband Dave have all ran the London marathon in their memories. Now it’s my turn! I have been given the opportunity to run for this amazing charity. Not a runner, a complete amateur but I cannot wait to take on this challenge after getting into a little bit of running back in lockdown!
However long it takes me, I will get round and do it with Mum & Louise in my mind ❤️ As I’m sat writing this a little Robin is perched on the fence outside 👼
Anything you can donate, we will be truly grateful! Xx
Brain research UK is the UKs leading national funder dedicated to research into neurological conditions. We fund vital research to increase understanding, improve diagnosis and treatment, and work towards the prevention of neurological conditions, to help people who suffer with them live better, longer. Our funding is currently focused on three priority research areas: Brain tumours, Brain and spinal cord injury, and Headache and facial pain. These are areas where there is a large unmet patient need that is not reflected in current funding levels. By concentrating our efforts on these three areas, we can have a more significant impact.
