Story
In August 2025 I will be taking on the incredible challenge of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. I am doing this to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF), a charity dedicated to supporting those affected by this devastating disease and funding vital research to better understand meningitis and how to defeat it.
Meningitis is a deadly and life-altering illness which claims 1,000 lives everyday worldwide. It can impact people of all ages, including students, where the risk can be particularly high. MRF are working alongside the World Health Organisation to defeat meningitis and septicaemia by 2030. The work they do is crucial in raising awareness, supporting families, and funding vital research to eliminate this disease.
The climb will be demanding as we are faced with extreme altitudes, freezing temperatures and exhaustion but knowing the support for the charity will make such a difference will help push me to the summit, one step at a time.
Please consider donating what you can as every contribution, no matter the size, will help bring us closer to a world where meningitis does not threaten lives. Together we can help make a lasting impact in fighting this disease.
Thank you so much for your support, it means both a lot to me and those we are helping.
Lara :)
