The weekend of May 10/11, 2025, I will be on the Isle of Skye for a reunion to celebrate life, friendship and mark my successful rescue 20 years ago along with friends by the Skye Mountain Rescue Team. The intention is to climb 775 m Glamaig (which will be a significant challenge these days for some of us!) and in so doing raise funds for the Skye MR Team.

The Skye MRT is completely run by volunteers and is part of Scotland's Mountain Rescue organisation. They do a fantastic job providing assistance to walkers and climbers on the Isle of Skye on the west coast of Scotland.

I will be sharing this event with a great bunch of close friends, some of whom were with me 20 years ago during the day and night of Friday, May 13th, 2005 when I was rescued by the MR Team from a near fatal accident in the Cuillin mountains of Skye. The cover photo was taken in Elgol, during my last visit with hill mates to Skye in 2022. Three of the group there were with me during the rescue in 2005 (Mike, Gavin and Noreen). Elgol is on the shores of Loch Scavaig towards the end of the Strathaird peninsula of Skye and has magnificent views of the Cuillin mountains.
