395km Manila - Naga city. Bike, Hike and Waterfalls

Larry Stokes is raising money for ACCT UK

395km Manila - Naga city Bike, Hike and Waterfalls · 4 January 2026

We provide vital funds to help young people learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their ACF experience. Our grants programmes support thousands of Army Cadets and ACF Adult Volunteers to access activities and development opportunities that make a positive impact for life.

Story

January 2026 I will attempt a challenge to ride from Manila to Naga City ( 395km) Philippines, within the ride I will also attempt to Hike to no less than 10 different Waterfalls.

This challenge will not be easy as roads in the Philippines are not the best and they are quite dangerous due to sheer number of RTAs and dangerous driving. The terrain will be sometimes mountainous and some trails are dangerously thin with steep drops.

Although Waterfalls are quite numerous in the Philippines it's still quite a challenge getting to them, the usual Jungle terrain with Snakes(Uggh), Spiders and all the standard jungle critters you would expect.

On top of this Philippines are renowned for Earthquakes, Landslides as well as a few active Volcanos along the way, should be fun.

I'm doing this challenge to hope to raise money for ACCT UK

For over 95 years, the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) has been a beacon of hope and support for countless cadets and adult volunteers. Our mission is to empower young individuals through non-military activities that foster personal growth and development. From music and sports to first aid training and adventure challenges, we believe that every cadet deserves the opportunity to explore their potential and embrace the incredible experiences offered by the Army Cadet Force (ACF).

As I prepare for my upcoming challenge, "Bike, Hike and Waterfalls" on January 4th, 2026, I invite you to join me in making a difference. This personal trek is not just an adventure; it is a chance to raise vital funds that will ensure ACCT UK can continue providing essential grants, insurances, training, qualifications, and a 24/7 support line for our dedicated adult volunteers.

I'm aiming to raise £2500 to support these invaluable programs. Your contribution will help us create lasting memories for cadets while ensuring they have access to all the wonderful opportunities that ACF offers. Together, let’s inspire the next generation of leaders! Will you stand with me in this mission?
