Story

My mate Pete (below) moved out of London to the Lakes a few years ago and simply put we are both too busy to arrange a time to visit each other...in fact I have only been there once since he moved... mmm maybe I should take the hint.. anyway we had a chat and thought a good way of getting to spending time, catching up without it just being in a pub was to do something positive – making money for charities! Every year, starting in 2025, we will aim to do something as a team to raise some money.

The Lactic Acid Trip was born...

So... without further ado the inaugural L.A.T. presents -

Better Lakes than Never!

On 5th July 2025 we're taking on Pedal, Paddle, Peak, in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK on July 5th.

In just one day, we will cycle 34km, canoe 3km and embark on a 17km hike to summit Helvellyn. The event is a challenging, on average, the event takes between 7-9 hours to complete. The longest element of the event is the mountain climb, which takes teams approx 3 - 5 hours.

We have been strongly advised to train for the event which we are yet to start... we all know Pete eats 34km bike rides as a snack before breakfast but he is crap at kayaking.

(Pic for illustrative purposes - it isn't Pete at the back)

We also need to raise some cash for Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and it many cases, it limits lives. MDUK funds groundbreaking research into into treatments and cures as well as providing life-changing individuals and families living with these conditions.
