Story
Little Maisie is a tiny tortoiseshell girl with the biggest purr you’ve ever heard. Despite everything she’s been through, she greets everyone with love and trust, and now she needs our help.
Maisie was taken to the vets after being found with a badly broken leg, when the vets examined her, they discovered her femur was completely broken. No one knew when or how it happened, only that the injury had been left for some time.
The owners asked Cats Protection if we could help, and once they signed her over, we collected Maisie straight away. Our vets confirmed the worst: the bone had started to calcify around the break, and there were several loose fragments floating around her leg. The only option to end her pain was amputation.
Her surgery took place on 24th November and cost an initial £800, with follow-up appointments, ongoing pain relief, and her future spay still to come.
Maisie isn’t yet signed off post-op, but she’s recovering well and still purring her little head off.
This brave kitten has a long road ahead, but with your help, she can enjoy a pain-free, happy future. When she’s fully recovered, she’ll make the most wonderful companion. She will need to have access to a very safe enclosed garden to keep her safe on three legs, but she has all the love in the world to give.
