Story
For the second year running, on 12 April I'll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) with a group of fellow bereaved parents. As an extra challenge, I'll also be running the Reading Half Marathon on 22 March, 3 weeks earlier!
I will be running in memory of our son, Benjamin, who was born on Valentines Day in 2019. He would have been 7 this year. Benjamin contracted a virus called CMV during my pregnancy, a virus I had never heard of before then. He lived for just 27 minutes, and those minutes and his life profoundly changed me and my family's life forever.
Although Benjamin didn't get to stay, he is in everything I do, and will forever be the missing piece of my beautiful family. I am so proud to raise money in his name, and particularly to help other parents who are going through the darkest days of their lives. Losing a child is one of the most devastating things anyone could go through. The support of the team at Hampshire Hospitals and The Forget Me Not Fund was truly a lifeline for me and so many others, so any money we raise I know will directly support others going through this heartbreak.
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page, your donation, no matter how big or small, means a huge amount to me. Laura x
