Story

My sister and I are taking on the challenge of running the Cardiff Half Marathon 2025 in support of Cancer Research Wales. Neither of us have run a half marathon before, but we’re excited to push ourselves while raising funds for a cause that means a great deal to us.

Updated: unfortunately Charlotte has suffered an ankle injury, and is no longer able to run the half marathon. Thankfully my lovely fiancé Liam, an avid runner, has stepped in to fill her place so we can continue raising funds for this wonderful charity.

Our family has been directly affected by cancer in recent years, and we want to give back to a charity that works tirelessly to improve patient outcomes right here in Wales. Cancer Research Wales funds vital research to advance early detection, treatment, and survival rates, making a real difference to those facing this disease.

We have set a joint fundraising target of £600, and any donation—big or small—will help us reach (and hopefully exceed!) this goal. Your support means the world to us 💕

Some more info about Cancer Research Wales:

Our vision is a Wales united against cancer through world-class research. We work to reduce the impact of cancer and improve unacceptable survival rates. By supporting the best cancer researchers and clinicians across Wales, we are driving innovation and improving outcomes for the cancer patients of today and tomorrow.

All research funding is spent in Wales, for Wales. None of our work would be possible without the generous support of people of Wales, to whom are truly grateful.
